Chris Simmons
Cornish Landscape Photographer
Involved with commercial photography for 30 years
Began an interest in photography in the 70's
Today lives in Cornwall taking landscape shots of beaches
Chris is driven by venturing and witnessing stunning coastal scenes, his passion is to find new perspectives and using his DLSR camera as creatively as possible.
Photography first became part of Chris’s life in the 70’s as his father and grandfather were both keen amateurs
and one of his father's photos of a sunset, he still fondly remembers.
When Chris was a young boy he went on family holidays, he visited places such as Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and many more. Chris without visiting these places may never have got into photography.
At school the head of art assisted Chris by giving him access to whatever he needed, cameras, the darkroom and much more, this is where Chris developed his skills. He then went on to secure a place Epsom College of Art and Design. He later moved into a career in London’s advertising industry. By this time Chris had a few cameras of his own for his job and hobbies. Chris made the decision to move to DSLRs and left behind the era of film and began living life in Cornwall where he still takes breath-taking photographs.
