Born Emmanuel Lubezki is a Mexican Cinematographer.
Emmanuel Lubezki is commonly known in the video world as the “god of lighting”. The natural lighting he can capture on video is most definitely in a class of its own. His work using light is lifelike! As well as this, Emmanuel is also well known
for his continuous uninterrupted shots in his blockbuster film scenes.
Often using a steady cam for stabilisation, which only costs around £150, this is extraordinary!
This proves that you do not need to be rich to produce a steady video.
A steady cam is a 3-axis stabiliser for a video camera, not for photography.
More on steady cams can be found in one of my blog posts.
Emmanuel Lubezki's work has been praised and he has won academy awards for best cinematography 3 times in a row,
this is a first for any cinematographer. The films he has been awarded for are as follows:
Gravity in 2013, Birdman in 2014, The Revenant in 2015.
As Emmanuel Lubezki mostly takes films of moving scenes, I have taken on the challenge to make a short film
using real-life colour, and utilising my own steady cam.
Please take a look at my short film, below.
This is my interpretation of Emmanuel Lubezki's work.
