DNA 50 50 steady cam review
So I invested in a steady cam, and here is why and, how good, or bad it is!
On Tuesday the 8th or august, I did some work for my auntie filming some of her artwork and house on a week where her stuff was on show, so I was asked to go film so I did here is the video link for that film that I did, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=becE-uNmXxo
Now after I made this I got paid and with that money I purchased a DNA 5050 steady cam, that I used to film all of my France trip, film out soon. So now I’ll start with the unboxing, the packaged that arrived was in a box and inside that was a case constructed out of a tough rigid material with hi visibility lines on it (why I don’t know) anyway, inside was polystyrene glued into it and all the parts were lying inside, for me to construct, the base plate was in a section of its own the main stand also was as well, and the plate also here is a picture of it all together.

So, this is it, it is a 3-axis stabiliser and is to keep footage smooth whilst filming, it also uses Anodized and powder coated aircraft grade aluminium for lightweight superior performance and extreme longevity, as well as Amazing range 2-7 l
bs, more than any other model available on the professional stabilizer market which is great as it will work with all my lenses small and large and also my phone! So to the footage, at the start it taken a while to get used to as my arm would tyre quickly while using it and also, it was and absolute nightmare to set up, honestly it almost taken me 2 hours! However, once its set up it is worth it.
It works best with a wide lens as I found out and on my 42.5mm lens the footage still had some shakes in, and also it works best if the stabilization is off on the lens as it is stabilized itself. Just to add carrying it is fine as you have a solid bar on the side to grab onto, however with heave cameras for long use it is almost impossible to have you hand not shaking after about 20 mins of consistent use.
In conclusion I believe that this was a good investment but I need to continually use it in order to train my arm to the weight and also just go out and use it as a hobby to get better with certain movements and optimise it as best as I can for my use.
