Green Screen

So today we had a lesson on green screen, Dan first said to us that if we wanted to use the green screen in our music video we could, but we had first to book it out and not wear shoes on it. So, though it would probably not be useful in the project that I am working on right now, I still wanted to make the best out of the lesson and put 100% into the small project.
We began by choosing a prop to do the advertisement on, my group firstly choose some toilet paper, but then another team member started singing flash by queen and holding up a bottle of Flash surface cleaner, in my head I knew that we could pull off a quick 30 second commercial with this, so, I sat down with a past team member of mine Laura Paynter and began to make the storyboards. Then another friend of mine Jamie Moore wrote the short script after I was finished. However, while we were waiting, Jamie and I began getting up background images of before and after clean kitchens and bathrooms, however, after this, we called in to film.
Below is the Picture of our story board - script is below the pictures:

Below are some pictures of the green screen set which included 4 x lights, one camera and a boom pole with a mic on the end.
So when it came to filming things went really well and we were in and out of the room within 15 minutes, during this time I was directing the project shoot, I also learned to make sure that there are no big shadows on the green screen background and also make sure your actor is not wearing any green, otherwise there will be issues in post like we had as one of our actors was wearing green on the back of his hoodie!
When it came to editing, which was on a mac, I was pretty confused as to how confusing Mac OS really is and how it takes about 2 clicks more to do things that I can do in 1 on Windows, as well as this I think Mac OS is getting dated, its not as smooth or as intuitive as Windows (In my opinion), so after waiting for beach balls to turn all the footage was in our timeline, and we were finally editing in Final Cut Pro. We firstly added the clips into our timeline that had a green background and applied a filter so that we could underlay a still image of a dirty/clean kitchen behind our actors in the footage, after this we cut the clips into the right order and then added the song, Flash by Queen throughout the whole trailer.
Overall I think we did an excellent job in the hour we had to plan, shoot and edit the project, I am personally happy with the final product, as it is one of the first times I have edited on a Mac and to me that is quite the achievement, and I have also learnt some valuable skills like the green screen. Of which I can now use in the future.
Below Is our final piece that was edited by Gemma Carnell, Laura Paynter and myself.
Thanks For watching,
If for some reason you cannot watch the advert it's because it's been copyright claimed either by 'Flash' or Queen for using their song, in the future to avoid this problem we would use and uncopyrighted song.
