So, it’s now Tuesday and I filmed on Sunday but I still remember everything so let’s get into it. So im talking to ross about lunch time and we decide to go filming so we drive to this abounded quarry in Churchill that few people know about. I only know as I walked past it on a ten tors training walk, and so I remembered roughly where it was.

Plan was to bring my s3 mini and chuck off one of the ledges, ross also bought 2 other blackberry phones, and so we started out. We got to the parking spot and it was conveniently placed right next to a path that bypasses the big gates, and the fence along that path was knocked down so we pretended we didn’t see anything! Had a look around without the gear and looked at where we could drop stuff, we found a place well positioned, so well positioned we had to cross a marsh to get to it, L so my feet got soaked.

We the returned to the car grabbed the gear; 3 tripods, 3 cameras and the phones themselves, all cameras would be filming in 4k today as we need to crop a lot see we do this to maintain maximum quality to provide a better picture for my viewers.

So we filmed the way to the drop zone for a pre affect, then shouted at ross a little just because he needed to get down the bottom with the slow mo. cameras, he did and we started dropping the phones, we did nine drops in total, enough footage for one day! A nice montage for me to rage over when my editing soft-where that costs 700£ crashes every 5 mins! Which drives me insane I swear, well anyway here is the boring stuff on the cameras that some people are into:

Camera 1 GH4 filming in full 4K 25fps for crop on dropping scenes otherwise it’s in 1080p for b-roll and a-roll

Camera 2 Galaxy s6 filming in only 4K 30fps (smaller sensor than gh4) filming only drop

Below a galaxy s8 plus filming slo-mo in 240 fps in 720p nothing special there

And camera 4 an iPod touch 6th gen as a backup slo-mo camera just in case of accidental deleted files or something along those lines filming in 720p 120fps

That’s all for this week
