Aerial Director of Photography
To be the aerial director of photography you would need to be taking responsibility for all aerial elements of filming from the birds eye view perspective. You'd need to be working closely with the director, safety engineer and managing the aerial photography team, also you would need to organise and plan all of the technical aspects of the filming taking place with air traffic control and local authorities.

What would you be doing in this job, for a start you would be planning the shots that you need to capture with the 1st director, then passing the information down to the flight crew and also the camera crew, you would be operating cameras occasionally in parallel with the camera operators. You would also need to be vigilant during the flight to try and spot any other locations that would be used for a fill shot where applicable. Other jobs may be to research other Arial shots and possibly recreate some for your film if fitting.
To get into this job, you will need many years of experience in aircraft and also behind cameras, first aid training, also dedication to the job. You may also need previous experience with attaching gear to the helicopter and training for an emergency landing / crash.
