Documentaries I have watched: The documentary I have watched is planet earth. David Attenborough narrates the earth and shows amazing footage of caves, landscapes, animals, plants and much more. The issues he would have had to face before filming is finding these animals and places. They used a lot of close ups and wide shots during filming the animals so they would have had to be patient and be ready for when they see the animal. They would have had to travel far to different areas to find these animals and due to how fast they can be, it must have been hard trying to capture them at the right time - they would have had to be very patient, even waiting days for them to come. This would also have an impact on finance. Due to the certain animals, they would have had to travel very far on plane/helicopter which would have costed a lot, plus all the camera and filming equipment along with it. They would have to know about animals and the planet very well as David Attenborough narrates it, and often tells the audience what the animal is doing or facts about the earth, they would have to do a lot of research before filming. While filming in these different countries, there are also big risks. For example, filming in desert, there’s a lack of water, and filming up close to dangerous animals and going into caves. They would have needed approval if they filmed someone’s house/area but most of it is animals and plants which they wouldn’t need permission for unless they were captured ones. The narrator is David Attenborough who is well known for this documentary. He focuses well on the animals, which represents what they’re going through and how they’re living. The documentary shows real life animals - and this would be hard to fake. David Attenborough would have a script as he is the narrator but it is all real facts and real life as it is showing “planet earth”. David Attenborough is a voice over so would be sat behind the editing screen watching the cameramen get the footage.
Although, there wasn't many documentaries on the menopause but there was small clips on Youtube about the menopause and a documentary on BBC Two called 'The Insiders' Guide to the Menopause' and another one on BBC One called 'Menopause and Me'. That's what makes our documentary unique is the fact not many documentaries have been made on the menopause and not many have been made from a viewpoint of a mum. The recent documentary I watched was called 'The Truth about The Menopause', this documentary was interesting but focused more of the science and cancer behind the menopause and this made it quite boring. However our documentary is focusing more on the lives of women during the menopause and how they coped with it and many women will be able to relate and seek .
