So, we had a guest speaker (Jenna Yhearm) come in to talk to us about her business and how she creates media campaigns to help promote campaigns and products. Her company is called Gumption and describe themselves as a “diverse creative team and extensive knowledge of digital marketing means we’re the best choice for strategizing and delivering social media campaigns that translate across your other marketing channels.” She spoke to us about the importance of planning and structure within your campaign. You need to know when certain posts will be posted and where this allows you to be able to plan further ahead and get a better idea what you will be doing and when as your posts will be reflecting that. She also explained to us how important stereotyping is in campaigning or advertising; you want the revenue for your advertising to be high so the best way to achieve this is to advertise to the largest group of consumers (although this might not be inclusive of everyone) this way the outreach is higher because you’ve campaigned to a group of people that are most likely to consume the product. This is when she receives feedback from the outreach of her social media posts, weather this being positive feedback or negative.
Charlie Derham:
I believe Jenna Yhearm did a fantastic job of explaining to us how she makes her social media campaigns and going in depth as to what they really do in terms of marketing. Other than Taryn's facts which are all 100% true. After the presentation I had a one to one conversation with Jenna Yhearm i asked her a few questions about one of her most recent projects which was advertising for the British airspace committee, I was first inclined to ask was it about drones and is it all about 'are drones bad' but no interestingly it was not. Her job was to advertise how British airspace is severely lacking in technology compared to other European countries, Australia as well as America. She said her company would be doing a campaign to advertise how our current tech is out of date and needs to be replaced with the modern GPS stranded, she would be doing this over Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. This wasn't necessarily important but i just wanted to include it as i believed it shows how committed Jenna Yhearm really is to make sure these campaigns are a success a trait that I would like to share when it comes to advertising out film trailer "The Key To Life".
