On Thursday the 17th Kes Pitchers and I went out to all of the locations where we would be filming and took detailed notes of the locations and also photos. We were looking out for possible hazards and also ideas for filming as we are the camera men. We first visited Kes's cabin which is a chalet like building located at the bottom of his garden overlooking an amazing view, it also gets plenty of sunlight in the evening as the sunset lights the whole place up, its almost as if it was built with the sunset in mind! This will make the location look very photogenic which is great for us as we want some really aesthetically pleasing shots in our trailer as well. Here we will use the drone, GH4's and also our sliders and tripods.
The next location we visited was the Marine lake in Clevedon, Here after writing notes for our recce we found that the water was going to be really cold when we wanted to film so we made the sensible decision not to make our actor jump in, but Kes instead wearing a wet suit. We thought we could get him to hold one of my GH4's in a waterproof bag and make it an FPV shot. We also want to shoot some clips of our actor Elena running here so we made sure its not to slippy etc...
Next we went to our Backwell location after checking with the Backwell Parish Clerk. We entered the location to find it looks amazing, its located less than 4km away from Bristol airport which means i cannot fly my drone there however the sight looks unreal. So after writing notes for our recces we proceeded to photograph and gather ideas as to where and ho we would shoot video in this location. We found some hallways where we could use my dolly and as well as this some rooftops where we could film with my GH4 looking down at Elena walking into one of the buildings which gives off the effect someone is watching her. This location is great and we will get many shots here. (we also looked for places where we could hide the safe).
After this we looked at the barn in the field where we would be filming, planned some drone shots and also some low angle shots as well as the cottage location and the swimming pool all in Wrington. We took notes but there was really nothing special in the last 3 locations as they are not the main locations.
Below is some pictures of the locations.
