Troubleshooting When Filming on Monday.
On Monday we had a fairly big problem when we were about to start filming, our main actor could not make it as she was unwell and also had a broken thumb, as the producer I had to think fast as it was Saturday evening so I messaged our backup actor who was also unavailable ( Ella Winterbourne), so I messaged our director Taryn and asked her if we could do shots of herself walking to our location instead but not show her face, so that was our plan. What we did was bring a fur coat of mine and got Taryn to wear it then it was harder to see her different hair colour and face, to maintain consistency, so for this location we captured fore scary b roll shots which really came into effect the quality as we filmed in 4k as there were few moving shots, though we will still edit the trailer down to 1080p, so what lesson has this situation taught me, that my planning in advance worked out well for us and the fact that things did not go as planned made it more of a challenge to get a good result as well as this the cold weather and the slippery slopes of this particular location really did make things harder, luckily we all worn adequate footwear.
Though at the end of the day we did manage to get all of our shots done, we could have planned the filming better with the sunset, though we got the footage we needed. The footage was crystal clear (when i reviewed it later that night). So on the whole, a good day of filming.
