Sound FX Work Shop

I learned that sound is a really important factor in the trailers and how hard it can be to get right, something I would like to do for our trailer, so first off it’s all about the clarity of sound something I believe I have on lockdown, for the sound for our groups trailer, I will be using a RODE Vieomic Pro Plus, as it has clear, crisp, deep sound for peoples voices, it also has a battery built into it to power its inbuilt DAC. As well as this we’ll also be using audio from the video mic, to go onto our secondary camera as a backup. For sound effects we plan to record footsteps and action sounds like kicking down a door or walking over rubble on set by getting our actor to hold the camera pointing down towards their feet, this should provide us with our own audio and leave us with no need to find any online, this, in turn, should make our trailer more original. Other things that were talked about in this workshop were tips for audio on the day, for example, use a dead cat if its windy, luckily I have one for my mic, other than this there were some sites suggested, where we could get free sound FX, but other than this they were really just showing me some trailers and how other people had used sound FX on a level that’s almost impossible on the time schedule we have to produce our own trailers, for example they suggested meeting up for a day and just plainly getting recordings for sound to go over the top of our trailer, whereas I plan to get all of our sound scenes after scene, this would be more practical for our group I believe.
