This last fortnight began with me being teamed up with three other very creative people; Bence, Archie and Kasha. We started the first week choosing our song which is ‘Money’ by Pink Floyd, we then began developing ideas, picking actors and locations and began to write up work for our pre-production folder.

We have also been blasted with content from lessons for which I have written up a short essay on all of them! We have also got a plan for our music video which is good, and our treatment is now complete, so we can begin to write up our shot list. Writing up the shot list means that I can now think about developing shots and start thinking of special effects ideas for when it comes to editing week.

Other than this I am thrilled with the progress of our group as well as the involvement of everyone making team decisions; this is something I believed I have personally improved since my last projects. I realise I am now trusting others more, delegating jobs and worrying less about people doing them, this intern has made me more relaxed and not so stressed, like I have been in past projects, even though the workload is more than or equal to what I have been used to in my last projects.

When it comes to my Job role which is the ‘cinematographer’ I have chosen to shoot the music video in 1080p 25p as this is a standard format to shoot a music video and give off a cinematic effect. Though it’s not the setup I am used to which is 1080p 50p (50fps) which is usually silky smooth, but this would not fit the style we are going for, which is in the 1970s. This means I will most likely add more movement than what I am usually used to, so fewer tripod shots and more Steadicam footage. I have also purchased a glass prism to move about in front of the camera lens; this prism splits white light into all the colours of the rainbow, I thought this could be useful to add a trippy effect into the film, this effect could also be amplified when it comes to the editing.

I also have news regarding actors. I now know of 3 senior men who would be willing to star in our film and three teenagers. We also have props – we have a computer monitor that looks like it's from the late ’70s/early 80s, that is, if we only show the front of it because it’s quite thin.

Below is a picture of the Monitor:

We also have the car that we want to pretend to steal as well as locations for all our scenes. Now, all we must do is finish all the paperwork, and we should be off to the races!

There will be another update post when a new decision has been made, or we bump into a complication.
