31st March Reflections

As the end of this week approaches, I am happy with the progress of the group and myself, we have obtained all the actors we will need, including the two senior men. We have also finished choosing our locations where we will be shooting our music video, there are now 9 locations where we will be filming, although this sounds like a lot they are all close together and all accessible by bus. We are mainly shooting in the evenings; this means that some of the group’s parents may have finished work and will be able to give some crew members direct lifts to locations instead of having to catch a bus.

Other tasks that are now almost complete include the shoot list, call sheers, proposal, treatment, location recces as well as the location risk assessments. We need to primarily work on our folder as I haven’t seen a list on what has been completed or what is in progress, this is important as it will tell me if we are up to speed with the paperwork and whether I need to step in and help Kasha with some of the work.

When it comes to the group moral, I think we have solid plans and if we choose to follow them and stick with our guns when it comes to filming dates, as I would not like a repeat of what happened in my last project, where we pretty much left everything to the very late in the programme. Currently, however, I am confident with the group, and I believe we will make a quality film.

How am I doing then, well, in fact, I think I am onto something with all the personal research I have been doing. I have currently produced over 16 documents of research, reflections and context work, with plans to do much more. I want to finish the research I have planned to write up by the 21st of April. I want to get all my research done and out of the way as it will allow me to focus more on the production. By finishing my work early, it will also take some stress off me going into filming week as I will no longer need to be worrying about writing up lessons as it will already be completed. The only write-ups left to do will be the reflections from filming week and editing week, as well as my final evaluations.
